In der historischen Umgebung der Stadt Nérac wurde das Schloss im 15. Jahrhundert von Alain d'Albret dem Großen, dem Ururgroßvater von Heinrich IV, erbaut. Als Hauptwohnsitz des späteren Heinrich IV. und seiner Frau Königin Margarete von Valois, genannt Königin Margot, von 1577 bis 1582 zeugt es von der Blütezeit der Familie d'Albret und des Hofes von Nérac in der Renaissance. Das Schloss wurde während der Revolution größtenteils abgetragen und heute ist nur noch der bemerkenswerte Nordflügel seines Innenhofs erhalten.
Bei Veranstaltungen können die Besucher das Schloss von Nérac auf originelle Weise entdecken. Kulturtermine während der gesamten Sommersaison.
