Das Dorf Fanlac wurde durch die Serie und später durch die Verfilmung von Eugene le Roys Roman "Jacquou le Croquant" berühmt. Es ist ein typisches Dorf des Périgord und liegt auf einem Hügel im Herzen des Barade-Waldes im Tal der Vézère ganz in der Nähe von Montignac und der Höhle von Lascaux.
Bei einem Spaziergang durch das Dorf können Sie die schönen Häuser mit ihren spitzen, schiefergedeckten Giebeln, die befestigte romanische Kirche, das kunstvoll geschnitzte Polybée-Kreuz des Kalvarienbergs aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und den alten Brunnen mit dem von den Seilen der Eimer abgenutzten Rand bewundern.
