La Manufacture ist ein echter Lebensraum, in dem man das ganze Jahr über lesen, entdecken, studieren, teilen, spielen, sich treffen, zuhören, sehen, praktizieren und entspannen kann. Eine Einrichtung, die Mediathek und Spielothek vereint und ein reichhaltiges und abwechslungsreiches Kulturangebot bietet: Konzerte, Workshops, Ausstellungen, Vorträge, Aufführungen für junges Publikum, Spieleabende usw.
Die Bibliothek beherbergt auch eine Sammlung zum Thema Jazz und schwarzamerikanische Volksmusik (Sammlung Panassié, Mansion, Delord, Lafitte...): 45.000 Ton- und Schriftdokumente, darunter zahlreiche unveröffentlichte Stücke, die Forscher aus der ganzen Welt anziehen.
Jedes Jahr wird diese Sammlung durch Ausstellungen aufgewertet.
