La Manufacture es un lugar donde leer, descubrir, estudiar, compartir, jugar, reunirse, escuchar, ver, practicar y relajarse durante todo el año. Es una mediateca y ludoteca con una oferta cultural rica y variada, que incluye conciertos, talleres, exposiciones, conferencias, espectáculos para público joven y tardes de juegos.
También alberga una colección patrimonial sobre el jazz y la música popular negra norteamericana (colección Panassié, Mansion, Delord, Lafitte, etc.): 45.000 documentos sonoros y escritos, entre ellos numerosos inéditos, que atraen a investigadores de todo el mundo.
Todos los años se organizan exposiciones para dar a conocer esta colección.
