Bis zur Französischen Revolution war in der Cité ein Kapitel der Kanonissen ansässig. Bei einem Spaziergang durch das Viertel des Kapitels kann der Besucher die Kanonikerhäuser aus dem 16. und 18. Jahrhundert mit ihren bunten Fassaden und den Standort des ehemaligen Klosters entdecken. Die Plaketten und Wappen über den Türen jedes Wohnsitzes erinnern an die Namen der letzten Kanonikerinnen, die hier bis zur Revolution wohnten.
Nur wenige Schritte entfernt befindet sich ein Teil der mittelalterlichen Stadtmauer, die im 13. Jahrhundert aus Vogesensandstein errichtet wurde (75 m Stadtmauer und 3 Türme). In einem der Türme ist das historische und archäologische Museum der Stadt untergebracht.
