Im Jahr 1240 kehrt Enguerrand III, Sire de Coucy, nach einem tapferen Krieg in sein Schloss zurück. Da er nicht weiß, welche magischen Worte er sprechen soll, wird er ins 21. Jahrhundert katapultiert. Glücklicherweise trifft er dort auf seine Nachfahrin Marie-Anne de Montmirail, die als Fremdenführerin in Coucy tätig ist.
