Die Umgebung von Cap Blanc-Nez und Escalles ist bei Fossiliensuchern beliebt. Man findet dort sowohl Fossilien als auch Markasitknollen. Achte auf zwei Dinge:

Achte auf das schnell aufkommende Gezeiten (überprüfe die Gezeitentabelle - der Unterschied zwischen Ebbe und Flut kann mehr als sechs Meter betragen)
fallende Felsblöcke in der Nähe der Kliffküste (gehe nicht in die Nähe der Kliffküste, sondern suche Fossilien und Markasitknollen am Strand in ausreichendem Abstand von den Klippen)

Die Fossilien stammen aus den fossilreichen Ablagerungen des Unterkretaz (Albien). Diese Ablagerungen findet man unter den auffällig weißen Klippen aus Kalkstein des Objekrit (Cenoman und Turonien)
