Die heutigen Markthallen stehen an der Stelle der alten, baufälligen Markthalle. Es ist dem Impuls des damaligen Bürgermeisters Gustave Baudin zu verdanken, dass sich die Gemeinde Joussé diesen Pavillon der Weltausstellung von 1900 leistete. Am Fuß eines Pfeilers befindet sich auf einer Bronzetafel der Name des Erbauers, die jedoch vom Zement überdeckt wird.
