Der Teich, der vom örtlichen Fischereiverein verwaltet wird, ist eine wahre Oase der Ruhe und dient der Fischzucht. Sein faszinierender Name könnte auf eine Verwechslung zwischen "fée" und "fie" zurückzuführen sein, was im Vogesen-Dialekt "Fichte" bedeutet und ein Echo der dichten Wälder ist, die diesen Naturraum umgeben. An seinen Ufern schafft der Granitboden des Valtin ideale Bedingungen für die Entwicklung eines Teppichs aus feinen Kräutern, insbesondere der Canche flexuse, die der Landschaft einen Hauch von Magie verleiht. Diese märchenhafte Umgebung geht weiter unten in eine Heidelbeer- und Calluna-Heide über, die die wilde und unberührte Atmosphäre des Ortes noch verstärkt.
