Die Annonciaden-Schwestern, die von 1623 bis 1984 in Langres tätig waren, widmeten sich der göttlichen Kontemplation. Zu den Gelübden der Keuschheit, der Armut und des Gehorsams kam das Gelübde der strengen Klausur und des völligen Rückzugs von der Welt hinzu. Zunächst war die Kongregation in einem nahe gelegenen Haus untergebracht, doch 1624 kaufte sie das Haus von Jean Girault, dem Herrn von Croy. Dieses Grundstück wurde durch weitere Käufe vergrößert, sodass die Kongregation 1684 mit dem Bau einer neuen, größeren Kapelle beginnen konnte. Das Kloster selbst wurde ab 1704 wieder aufgebaut. Die Schlichtheit des Komplexes spiegelt zweifellos die Strenge und Zurückhaltung der Annonciaden-Schwestern wider.
