Das Schiffswrack der Olympia sank im Februar 1980. Der Kapitän suchte nach einem Platz in Küstennähe, wo sie Schutz vor den starken Nordwinden finden konnten. Doch sie waren hilflos und das raue Meer warf sie in die Bucht von Liverio, nahe dem Strand von Kalotaritissa. Glücklicherweise wurde die gesamte Crew gerettet. Das Schiffswrack ist in vielen Szenen des Films „Der große Blaue“ von Luc Besson zu sehen. Es ist auch ein beliebter Tauchspot auf der Insel.
