Ballymoe ist ein Dorf im County Galway, Irland. Ballymoe liegt an der Westseite des Flusses Suck, der die Countys Galway und Roscommon trennt. Die nationale Nebenstraße N60 trifft im Zentrum des Dorfes auf die regionale Straße R360.
Der Name Béal Átha Mó stammt von einem Fort, das von Meabh von Connacht auf Befehl von Mogh erbaut wurde. Das Fort und das Dorf wurden später als Átha Mogh Mór und Béal Átha Mogh bekannt. Die Stadt ist heute das Zentrum eines kleinen ländlichen Gebiets, das sich mit gemischter Landwirtschaft beschäftigt. Erhebliche Moore, Forts und ein Massakreuz aus den Strafzeiten sind heute Merkmale von Ballymoe.
