Die Brücke der Tränen ist eine Steinbrücke in der Nähe der Städte Dunfanaghy und Falcarragh, grafschaft Donegal.
Vor der Einführung von Eisenbahnen und modernen Straßen wurde die Brücke auf der Hauptstrecke nach Derry genutzt. Der Hafen in Derry wurde von Auswanderern genutzt, die sich aufmachten, um ein neues Leben in Ländern wie Australien, Kanada, England, Schottland und den Vereinigten Staaten zu beginnen. Die Brücke war der Ort, an dem sich die Familien der Auswanderer verabschiedeten. Aufgrund der Reisekosten und der Unwahrscheinlichkeit, dass die Auswanderer zurückkehren würden, wurde ihr Abschied wie eine Beerdigung behandelt.
