Die Tre Cime di Lavaredo ist die Trennung zwischen den Städten Auronzo und Dobbiaco. Es gibt eine große Legende darüber, wie dieser Ort zur Grenze zwischen den beiden Orten wurde. Die Geschichte ist wie folgt: Eine Frau aus Auronzo und eine Frau aus Dobbiaco machten sich beim Krähen des Hahns auf den Weg. Der Ort, wo sie sich treffen würden, sollte die Grenze zwischen den beiden Gebieten werden. Doch die Frau aus Auronzo schummelte und ging vor Sonnenaufgang, sodass die Grenze viel weiter nördlich wurde.
