Im Jahr 1888 wurde es zu einem Anschlussbahnhof, mit der Inbetriebnahme der Linie nach Seregno, die im darauffolgenden Jahr bis nach Bergamo verlängert wurde.
Am 19. August 2020 befand sich ein Personenzug, der sich am Bahnhof Paderno-Robbiate in der Abstellanlage auf dem Überholgleis befand, aus noch zu klärenden Gründen in Bewegung und fuhr selbständig bergab in Richtung Monza, wo er etwa 6 km zurücklegte, bis er durch eine Entgleisung auf einem Stumpfgleis des Bahnhofs Carnate-Usmate gestoppt wurde. Im Zug befand sich ein Passagier, der aus der vorherigen Reise nach Paderno an Bord geblieben war und aufgrund der Entgleisung der ersten Wagen leicht verletzt wurde.
