Der Turm stammt aus dem 15. Jahrhundert und wurde kürzlich restauriert.
Es ist Teil des Systems der Küstentürme Siziliens und wurde zu Verteidigungszwecken mit Blick auf das Meer errichtet.
Der Turm steht hinter dem Dorf, 202 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel , und ist über einen Feldweg in einer halben Stunde zu Fuß erreichbar . Vom Turm aus hat man einen wunderschönen Blick über den Golf von Castellamare.
