Die berühmte Brücke, die heute ein Symbol der Region ist, wurde zwischen dem 20. März und dem 27. Juli 1879 vom Steinmetz Jean-Pierre Prommenschenkel aus Christnach innerhalb von vier Monaten erbaut. Zu dieser Zeit wurde die Brücke mit Dampfkalk und Sandstein gebaut und sie steht noch immer so, wie sie damals erbaut wurde. Das Holzgeländer wurde etwas später hinzugefügt und im Laufe der Jahre mehrmals erneuert.
