Der Naardertrekvaart liegt zwischen Muiden und Naarden. Der Trekvaart wurde 1641 in sechs Wochen gegraben und kostete etwa 240.000 Gulden. Die Kosten wurden von Muiden, Naarden und Amsterdam getragen. Über den Trekvaart wurde über zwei Jahrhunderte ein regelmäßiger Trekschuitdienst aufrechterhalten. Mit dem Aufkommen der Eisenbahn und einer Straßenbahn am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts verlor der Trekvaart seinen Status als Transportweg.
