Il Naardertrekvaart si trova tra Muiden e Naarden. Il canale venne scavato nel 1641 in sei settimane e costò circa 240.000 fiorini. I costi furono sostenuti da Muiden, Naarden e Amsterdam. Sul canale fu mantenuto un servizio regolare di scafi a trazione per due secoli. Con l'arrivo della ferrovia e di una linea tranviaria alla fine del XIX secolo, il canale perse il suo status di via di trasporto.
