Beim Erwerb von Gooilust, einer der Landhäuser in 's-Graveland, erhielt 1777 Gerrit Corver Hooft, der letzte Baljuw des Goois, einen großen Teil des späteren Corversbos in Erbpacht. Im Wald stehen noch einige Bauernhöfe. Auf den Äckern im Corversbos wurden Steinwerkzeuge der ältesten Bewohner des Goois, der Neandertaler vor ca. 250.000 Jahren, gefunden. Diese Werkzeuge sind im Archäologischen Informationszentrum der Provinz Nord-Holland in Castricum zu bewundern.
