Das älteste öffentliche Gebäude im Gooi ist das Rathaus von Naarden. Nach der Zerstörung der Stadt im Jahr 1572 wurde 1601 mit dem Bau des Rathauses begonnen. Das Interieur des Gebäudes ist größtenteils erhalten geblieben, unter anderem die Halle, die Schepenkamer und das Bürgermeisterzimmer. Im Dachgeschoss befindet sich jetzt der Bürgersaal mit Möbeln aus dem ehemaligen Gemeenlandshaus der Erfgooiers.
