Die ehemalige Hebammenschule wurde 1999 als Denkmal markiert. Ihr Architekt war Jan Stuyt (1868-1934), der mehrere Gebäude entworfen hat, die auf einem Hügel mit dem Imstenrade-Wald im Hintergrund liegen. Dieser Standort erfüllte die medizinischen Anforderungen an frische Luft.
Der erste Stein wurde am 25. September 1920 von Königin Wilhelmina gelegt. Die Arbeiten wurden 1922 abgeschlossen. Etwa zehn Jahre später wurde die Kapelle neben der Schule gebaut. Das Design der Kapelle wurde 1934 von Jan Stuyt und seinem Sohn Giacomo entworfen.
