Immer mehr Bauern geben ihren Betrieb auf. Manchmal entscheidet sich ein solcher Bauer, die freigewordenen Äcker und Wiesen für die Entwicklung eines neuen Anwesens zu nutzen. Verschiedene finanzielle Regelungen machen einen solchen Schritt für Bauern attraktiv. Man muss jedoch bestimmte Voraussetzungen erfüllen, um für diese Regelungen in Frage zu kommen. Das Anwesen Kraaiveld ist so ein Projekt und ist 73 Hektar groß. Es werden Laubwälder und blütenreiche Wiesen angelegt, ebenso ein paar Alleen. Von den 13 zu bauenden Wohnungen werden 8 auf einer Insel errichtet. Das Projekt, einen Pflegebauernhof zu starten, gelang nicht, aber es wird an einem Neustart gearbeitet.
