Ammerstol ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Krimpenerwaard in der niederländischen Provinz Südholland. Das Dorf hat 1.715 Einwohner und liegt an der Nordseite des Flusses Lek in der Krimpenerwaard. Der Name Ammerstol stammt von der „tol“, dem Ort, an dem Zollgebühren erhoben wurden. Ammerstol erhielt 1322 das Stadtrecht, aber da dies als zu teuer erachtet wurde, blieb Ammerstol dennoch ein Dorf. Die Wirtschaft basierte damals auf dem Lachshandel. In Ammerstol gab es eine Fischauktion, die zu Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts in die benachbarte Stadt Schoonhoven verlegt wurde; im 18. Jahrhundert kam die Fischauktion zurück. Außerdem waren viele Korbmacher aktiv.
