Umgeben von einem Graben, einem englischen Garten und einem Hochstamm-Obstgarten liegt Schloss Genhoes recht unscheinbar hinter der Kirche von Oud-Valkenburg. Genhoes bedeutet wörtlich „das Haus“.
Die Geschichte des Schlosses reicht etwa tausend Jahre zurück, aber das heutige umgrabte Schloss stammt aus der späten Mittelalter. Es besteht aus Mergel und Ziegelstein und hat die Elemente eines klassischen Schlosses, wie einen Eckturm und einen Graben mit einer Brücke darüber.
Auf dem Gut hingegen steht ein typisch Limburgischer Pachtbauernhof. Seit 1955 verwaltet Natuurmonumenten den Komplex.
