Fort Henricus war ein 1626 errichtetes Fort zur Verteidigung des Hafens von Steenbergen. Das Fort wurde nach einem Entwurf von David van Orliens gebaut, teilweise in der Graaf Hendrikpolder und teilweise in den Schorren und Schlickflächen, die später (1649 bzw. 1788) als die Alte und die Neue Vlietpolder eingedeicht wurden. Das Fort hat fünf Bastionen und einen nassen Graben mit einer Kontreskarpe. 1809 wurde das Fort zum letzten Mal in Bereitschaft versetzt, im Hinblick auf eine mögliche britische Invasion in Zeeland. 1816 wurde das Fort außer Betrieb genommen. 1827 wurde das Fortgelände an einen Privatmann zum Zwecke der Landwirtschaft verkauft. Das Fort gehörte zur Westbrabanter Wasserlinie.
Im Jahr 2008 wurde mit der teilweisen Restaurierung des Forts begonnen. Es ist Eigentum von Natuurmonumenten.
