Fort Henricus era un forte costruito nel 1626 per difendere il porto di Steenbergen. Il forte è stato costruito secondo un progetto di David van Orliens, in parte nella Graaf Hendrikpolder e in parte nelle zone umide e nelle paludi che sono state successivamente (nel 1649 e nel 1788) bonificate come il Oude e il Nieuwe Vlietpolder. Il forte ha cinque bastioni e un fossato bagnato con un contrescarp. Nel 1809 il forte è stato reso operativo per l'ultima volta a causa della possibile invasione britannica in Zelanda. Nel 1816 il forte è stato dismesso. Nel 1827 il terreno del forte è stato venduto a un privato per scopi agricoli. Il forte apparteneva alla Linea d'Acqua del West-Brabante.
Nel 2008 sono iniziati i lavori di parziale restauro del forte. È di proprietà di Natuurmonumenten.
