In der Wand des hohlen Weges können Wanderer eine seltene Ablagerung von dunkelgrünen bis schwarzen Körnchen entdecken. Es ist Vaalser Grünglas, das die Wand an dieser Stelle etwas grün färbt. Die grüne Farbe stammt von dem Mineral Glaukonit, das hier abgelagert wurde, als Südlimburg noch unter Wasser lag. Wanderer, die Glück haben, können hier auch Fossilien entdecken.
