Das Cachot befindet sich im ersten Stock des VVV in Hulst, im sogenannten ''s Landshuis'. Dieses imposante Gebäude stammt aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Bis tief ins 18. Jahrhundert war dies die Heimat der Magistratur des Hulster Ambachts. Diese verwaltete das Gebiet zwischen der Westerschelde, dem Land von Saeftinghe und der Grenze zum Land von Waas. Die Magistratur durfte Gesetze erlassen, Steuern erheben und über die eigenen Untertanen urteilen. Hier findest du auch noch eine echte Gefängniszelle aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Schau unbedingt vorbei: Reynaert selbst erwacht hier digital zum Leben! Der Fuchs wird mit einer Ausstellung über historische Folterinstrumente kombiniert.
