Am Westufer der Amstel sehen wir ein kolossales Bürogebäude. Bis vor ein paar Jahren war es eine schimmelige Aberration, Rivierstaete. Es war eine Kreation von Huig Maaskant, dem Architekten des Wiederaufbaus in Rotterdam und in Amsterdam verantwortlich für das Hilton Hotel. Im Jahr 2015 begann eine jahrelange Renovierung, bei der die weißen Kunststoffplatten durch Glas ersetzt wurden. Jetzt ist es hip und transparent und heißt Amsteldok.
