Der Palast von Dom Manuel war ein königlicher Palast, in dem viele portugiesische Könige lebten. Laut der Chronik bestand der Palast aus verschiedenen Gebäuden, darunter ein Renaissancekloster, die Sala da Rainha, das Refektorium und die königliche Bibliothek. Von dem Palast ist nicht viel übrig geblieben. Der Palast war eines der wichtigsten Gebäude im Land und hatte auch einen enormen historischen Wert. Hier erhielt Vasco da Gama den Auftrag, eine See-route nach Indien zu finden.
