Dieses symbolträchtige Haus wurde im 15. Jahrhundert erbaut. Sein auffälligstes Element ist der große 140°-Steinbogen in einer geraden Linie im Erdgeschoss, weshalb es als Nationaldenkmal gilt.
Es ist auch als „Casa dos Velhos“ bekannt, da es die Residenz von João Velho war , dem berühmten Seefahrer der Stadt, der für seine Expeditionen in den Kongo bekannt ist.
Im ersten Stock befindet sich der Sitz des Verbandes der Rentner und Rentner von Viana do Castelo.
