Das Padrão da Memoria (Denkmal der Erinnerung) ist ein Denkmal für den ersten Versuch der liberalen Truppen Pedros, am 8. Juli 1832 an der Mündung des Flusses Ave zu landen.
Dieser Versuch wurde durch die Weigerung von Brigadier Cardoso de Menezes, Gouverneur der Festung São João Baptista, vereitelt, was die sechs Dutzend Schiffe dazu zwang, weiter nach Süden zu segeln und einen zweiten Versuch zu unternehmen. Nachdem sie die Kiefernwälder südlich des Flusses Ave durchquert hatten, landeten sie schließlich in Pampelido. Diese Tausenden von Liberalen wurden „Bravos do Mindelo“ genannt.
Auf der Säule sind die historischen Worte von André Silva eingraviert: „ Soldaten! Diese Praias sind do malfadado Portugal “ („Soldaten! Dies sind die Strände des unglücklichen Portugal“).
