Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga ist eines der symbolträchtigsten und beeindruckendsten Heiligtümer Portugals.

Der Eingang wird durch einen großen steinernen Triumphbogen gekennzeichnet, der oft „Arc do Bom Jesus“ genannt wird. Diese Tür symbolisiert den Übergang von der Alltagswelt zum heiligen Ort . Es ist mit barocken und neoklassizistischen Details verziert.

Gleich am Eingang finden sich Statuen biblischer Figuren und Heiliger, die zur Kontemplation einladen. Themen wie Buße und Glaube werden hervorgehoben.

Von hier aus beginnt die ikonische Zickzack-Treppe (Escadório do Bom Jesus) mit 577 Stufen.
