The Göstinger Ruinenberg, historically known as Annaberg, is a 574 m above sea level mountain that serves as a foothill of the Flösserkogel north of Graz. On it stands the Gösting ruins. The mountain forms an eastward-striking ridge, around which the Mur River forms its bend as it exits the Alps and enters the Graz Basin, thus making the Ruinenberg the northwestern end of it. At its southeast foot lies the village of Gösting, now the 13th district of the state capital of Styria, to the north is Raach, also part of the city. The mountain is separated from the city mountain Plabutsch to the south by the valley of Thal with the Thaler Bach.
