Höhlen tower cave

The Höhlturmhöhle is a cave near Wöllersdorf in southern Lower Austria. With a length of 180 m and a height difference of 28 m, it, along with the Hohlur and the Steinklopferhöhle, is one of the largest caves in the Mandling-Waxeneck area.
The Höhlturmhöhle is located in the Gutenstein Alps at the edge of the Vienna Basin at the entrance to the Piestingtal on the southern slope of the mountain Auf dem Hart at an elevation of 355 m. Due to its proximity to the town of Wöllersdorf, it is one of the few caves that are easily and quickly accessible. From the church in Wöllersdorf, one reaches the upward path called "Schafschere" until the "Höhlturmweg" branches off to the right, which steeply ascends past the last houses of the village to the forecourt of the cave with the so-called Höhlturm. From the forecourt, one already has a bit of a view over Wöllersdorf.
