The Reptile Zoo Nockalm is located in the district of Patergassen in the municipality of Reichenau in Carinthia, Austria. It is one of the most species-rich exhibitions of living venomous snakes in Europe. The Reptile Zoo, which is open year-round, has been accessible to the public since 1995 and is run by Peter Zürcher, who turned his hobby into a profession. Since 2020, he has been supported in the management of the zoo by Carina Zechmann. Since its opening, the zoo has been expanded several times and houses around 400 animals in approximately 135 terrariums, of which 120 are indoors. About 90 of the more than 115 snake species are cobras, rattlesnakes, and vipers. In addition, there are lizards, crocodiles, toads, scorpions, insects, birds, and tarantulas.
