The Martinsbühel Castle, also sometimes referred to as Schloss Martinsbühel or Sankt Martinsberg, is a hilltop castle located between the Inn River and the Martinswand in the municipality of Zirl in the Innsbruck-Land district of Tyrol. The Martinsbühel is a low hill situated east of Zirl at the foot of the Martinswand. It rises to an elevation of 616 m above sea level, about 30 meters above the Inn River. It was already inhabited during the La Tène period; later, the Roman fort Teriolis was located here. In the Middle Ages, the hill was also significant due to its strategically favorable location at the Inn ferry and along the road from Innsbruck to the Upper Inn Valley and the Seefeld saddle.
