The family-friendly two-lake hike is a must for anyone coming to Wagrain-Kleinarl. It leads from Jägersee to the natural paradise of Tappenkarsee.
Salzburg Sports World: popular hiking trail
The hike starts from the parking lot on the left shore of the picturesque Jägersee (also a toll road for cars) and takes about 1 hour to reach Schwabalm. From here, the marked hiking trail winds through the forest, sometimes steep, with many twists and turns along a waterfall to Tappenkarsee. Tappenkarsee is one of the largest mountain lakes in the Eastern Alps. A sign on the shore informs about the old legend "The Dragon from Tappenkarsee".
At the end of the tour, a stop at the inn by the Jägersee is also worthwhile.
