On the Riverside House route, you can see particularly well what the measures of recent years have achieved in nature. As more water flows back into the side arms and old channels, the water areas in the floodplain increase, benefiting rare animal species such as the European pond turtle or the dogfish.

This tour takes you along the embankment path by the Danube to the Orth islands. They are partly densely populated with old willows and poplars, and beside the stones, you can find the shells of various species of mussels. At the level of the islands, you turn into the forest and first walk over abandoned meadows, then through a dense patch of forest.

Along the forest path, you can often discover fresh wild boar tracks here. Following the Fadenbach, where European pond turtles sunbathe on the wood in spring and summer, you walk back to the starting point. At Humer’s Riverside House, you can wind down the tour.
