The Riedener See is a natural lake in the Tirol Lech Nature Park, surrounded on all sides by thick forests and just to the east of the small settlement of Rieden. It is known for its diverse flora and fauna, including the alpine salamander "Salamandra Atra", the alpine newt and various orchids. The limestone-rich wetlands are also home to the rare protected firefly species "Coenagrion Hylas".
This flat and easy walk begins in Rieden, next to the small St. George's Church, and leads along the main village road in an easterly direction. Once you have reached the lake, cross a small bridge on the right and had into the forest. It takes around 30 minutes to hike around the lake. Along the way there are info boards telling walkers about the local flora and fauna. Head back to Rieden along the same route.
