Already in 1654 we find traces of brewing activities at this location. Léon Huyghe started a brewery in 1904. In 1925, the brewery was joined by son Albert and son-in-law Louis Droesbeque and the brewery was renamed Brewery L. Huyghe. Today it is the 4th generation's turn. The elephant was launched in 1989 and has since gained international recognition.
