This museum, located at only a stone’s throw from the Grand-Place square, focuses on the military history of Tournai and its vicinity from 1792 to 1945. It consists of ten rooms and houses a collection of weapons, equipment and uniforms. The museum is situated in a private mansion from the 18th century, listed as architectural heritage of the province of Hainaut. Those who have a passion for military history will go from one surprise to the next in the different rooms, where a wide variety of weapons, headgear and uniforms, documents, scale models, ammunition and radios are on display. One of the rooms is dedicated to the local resistance and exhibits a transmitter-receiver used by a well-known member of the Tournai resistance. The annex houses cannons, bombs and torpedoes. Free admittance every 1st Sunday of the month.
