The Zwalmmolen is an excellent starting point for numerous tours. In the mill house you can rent bicycles. From here you can walk both upstream and downstream on a path along the Zwalmbeek. One can also climb the hill; this climb is known locally as "Zwalmberg". Upstairs you have a panoramic view of the Zwalm valley. At the Zwalmmolen is the starting point of the Zwalmbeek walking route and the Watermolen cycle route. The AVS Zwalm route, a 50 km cycle route, also passes here. This route is not to be confused with the Zwalm route, a 90 km autoroute.
