The hamlet of Buchholz ? literally: beech wood ? is hardly found on the map. You have to look for it in the far east of the province of Liège, a straight-line distance of 5 km southeast of Büllingen, a few kilometers before the German border, in the immediate vicinity of Losheimergraben. It consists of fewer than ten houses and is completely surrounded by the vast forests on the German-Belgian border, about 600 m above sea level. In the immediate surroundings, the Warche and Medenbach spring up, right in the attractive Hautes Fagnes-Eifel Nature Park.
