In 1862 the castle was built by architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar (1811-1881). On the slope in front of the park pond you can see a structure with features from the English neo-Tudor style. This neo-Gothic style shows many influences from other architectural styles, such as Romanesque and classicist form elements. The fairytale castle consists of two storeys and nine bays between two heavy corner towers. The whole is given a playful character by the turrets, the battlements, the pear-shaped roofs of the towers, the embrasures, the arches and the battlements for the façade. And find out if it is true that the castle has an annual calendar hidden in it: 365 windows, 52 doors, 12 towers and 7 stairs! In 1923 the municipality bought the castle from Baron de Viron. A year later, the Dilbek residents were able to use the town hall in the former castle for the first time.
