Description

The beautiful Predikherenhof in the Heistraat has always been a well-known country estate, and was built in its current form as a country residence of the Van Pottelberghe de la Poterie family (cf. coat of arms). There is a beautiful surrounding park and a partially walled castle in neo-rococo style designed by the well-known architect V. Vaerwyck. This version dates from 1909. It is inspired by the rococo façade of the " Hoofdwacht" on the Kouter in Ghent. The façade includes a ornate pediment with inscribed framed oculus and coats of arms of the Van Pottelberghe de la Poterie family.
