Description

Brewery Oud Beersel was founded in 1882. It is one of the last authentic lambic breweries in Belgium and is known for its lambic brewed in a traditional way and according to time-honored tradition. Lambic matures for up to three years in wooden barrels, after which it is cut into Oude Geuze. By fermenting sour cherries on lambic and after re-fermentation in the bottle, Oude Kriek is born. This unique brewing process with spontaneous fermentation is possible in Belgium in the regions of Pajottenland, the Senne Valley and Brussels due to the presence of specific microflora.
