The history of the Belgian Draft Horse is very fascinating, particularly for the municipality of Vollezele. The Belgian Draft Horse is often referred to as the living cultural heritage of Belgium. It rightly received its statue on Saturday, August 12, 2000, at the Oudstrijdersplein in Vollezele. Ron Deblaere from Lichtervelde is the artist who immortalized Brillant in bronze. It is a gift to Vollezele from the Beaulieu company in Wielsbeke.
