Here rises the main church of the diocese of Hasselt, namely the St. Quintinus Cathedral. In the 8th century, the first primitive church stood on the site of the St. Quintinus Cathedral by the Helbeek, the core of old Hasselt. In 1967, with the establishment of the diocese of Hasselt, this church became the bishop's church or cathedral. This protected Romanesque-Gothic monument on the Vismarkt/Fruitmarkt also houses the carillon museum with its impressive tower.
When you walk through to the left behind the cathedral, you will pass by some nice dining spots.
